"Guaranteeing women’s rights is a condition of democracy and a priority of my Government. Without the true emancipation of women, human rights are wishful thinking. On this March 8, I pay tribute to all those who are committed to gender equality," Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé Presidential Transitional Council : "On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) pays tribute to the resilience and commitment of Haitian women, pillars of our families, our communities and our national development. This day is a reminder of their essential role in all sectors and the need to strengthen gender equality, empowerment and the protection of their rights. The CPT reaffirms its determination to fight against discrimination and violence against women, while promoting their access to education, employment and justice. March 8 is not just a celebration, it is a call to action. Together, let's build a country where every woman and girl can grow in safety, with the same chances of success. Happy celebration of International Women's Day !" Kathia VERDIER, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad : "On this March 8, International Women's Day, we honor women, mothers, wives and girls around the world and in Haiti in particular. You are the central pillar of humanity... For 2025, after so many years of demands and struggles for gender equity and parity, progress must be strengthened. Respect for women's rights is a sure path to equitable, peaceful and prosperous societies. They are beneficial to all of us. Together, let us take urgent action to make this a reality. Let us courageously raise awareness and demonstrate unwavering will to achieve greater gender equality in the world. This is the greatest investment in our shared future… Have a great day of reflection and action, Ladies !" FHF : On this March 8, the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) pays tribute to all the women and girls who, through their passion and determination, pave the way for new generations of athletes and campaign for women’s equality and empowerment. FHF Normalization Committee : On Saturday, March 8, 2025, International Women's Rights Day, Ms. Monique André, President of the Normalization Committee of the Haitian Football Federation, said, "In a sport long perceived as a male bastion, each performance by a female talent on or off the field is a reminder that football belongs to everyone. I have had the privilege of witnessing the strength, talent and resilience of the women who bring this sport to life. Players, coaches, referees, managers or passionate supporters, they each contribute, in their own way, to shaping the future of football. Today, we celebrate our girls, our women, our champions, on and off the field. Continue to inspire us. Together, let's accelerate change and build a future where every woman and girl finds her place and shines in football. We celebrate your achievements and salute your efforts to advance women's football in Haiti. To all those who work in this field, we extend our respect and gratitude. Happy International Women's Day to all !" Mayor of Cap-Haitien Yvrose Pierre : On this International Women's Day, I have a deep thought for all those who are going through difficult times, especially those who have had to flee violence in Port-au-Prince. These women, torn from their daily lives, forced to leave everything behind, arrive in Cap-Haïtien with the hope of finding peace and dignity. Today, more than ever, we must join forces so that every woman, whether she is a native of Cap-Haïtien or has come looking for a new start, can live freely, without fear or discrimination […] To all the women of Cap-Haïtien and elsewhere, I say to you : you are not alone. I am with you, we are with you. Let us continue the fight, with determination and solidarity. Happy International Women's Day ! BINUH : On the eve of International Women's Day, Maria Isabel Salvador, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), said : "No process can move forward without the participation of women. Whether in politics or in decision-making at all levels. I reiterate the call made by the UN Secretary-General on the fundamental role of women and their active participation in any process aimed at strengthening Peace and security." S/ HaitiLibre
