TPS : Complaint Against Trump and DHS
On Friday, March 14, 2025, nine Haitians, a powerful union, and a Protestant group filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York against President Donald Trump and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), led by Kristi Noem, for their decision to reduce TPS status for more than half a million Haitians in the United States by six months. The plaintiffs allege that this reduction, which was made in violation of U.S. immigration law and without proper review, is unlawful and motivated by "Trump's racial animus toward non-white immigrants." They are asking the court to block the executive order regarding this reduction.
