Haiti - Economy : According to Daniel Supplice the diaspora is ready to invest but...

According to the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), Daniel Supplice the Haitians living abroad want to return to Haiti to invest their money. But they expect of the Haitian government, the establishment of strong structures, able to accommodate them.

Mr. Supplice also indicated that only in the U.S. banks "the assets of compatriots are estimated at about $50 billion." On the other hand Mr Supplice stresses that Haitians living abroad are eager to help. "They can do much more than sending transfers that serve only to consumption. But they hope a little more effort on the part of the State."

Recall that the holder of MHAVE has traveled to the United States from November 26 to December 4, 2011 during which he met with U.S. elected officials of Haitian descent, including Carrie Sollages, Legislator in County Nasseau, Rosemonde Pierre-Louis, Vice President of City Council of Manhattan... e also met with Haitian professionals, including groups of engineers, retired teachers who hope to put their skills to the benefit of the son of the country, remained in the mother country, men and business women who want to invest in condominiums...

In addition, the communication office of MHAVE informed that the Ministry advanced quickly in the restructuring process. The draft Organic Law has been submitted to the Prime Minister for legal suites, the draft budget of MHAVE is ready, consultations are underway for setting up offices in consulates and embassies outside of Haiti, to facilitate the registration of Haitians abroad, principal project for the owner of MHAVE.
