Toll on the road leading to PAP International Airport Heavily armed men from Simon Pelé's gang have taken control of the road leading to Toussaint Louverture International Airport and are demanding tolls from motorists and truckers. The amount demanded varies depending on the type of vehicle and the victims' estimated ability to pay. PNH : More than 210 summary executions On Friday, March 28, 2025, High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk revealed before the Human Rights Council in Geneva that more than 210 summary executions by the police had been identified by the High Commissioner, compared to around thirty in 2023 (a 700% increase). PAP JAZZ : New dates On Friday, March 28, 2025, the Haiti Jazz Foundation announced in a press release that the 18th edition of PAP JAZZ, which was scheduled to take place on March 20, 21, and 22, was canceled (for the second time) due to the country's security situation. It will now take place on April 5 and 6, 2025. Tickets for the March edition remain valid for this year's edition. Insecurity : The CAS is relocating The Directorate of the Social Assistance Fund (CAS) informs the general public, as well as the institution's employees and beneficiaries in particular, that the Fund's sensitive materials have been relocated due to the deteriorating security situation in the country, particularly in light of the risks of looting and fire.
