PNH : UTAG member killed
On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, the Haitian National Police confirmed the death of Garry Junior Lima (30th class), assigned to the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG), killed during violent clashes with members of the "Viv Ansanm" gang in Carrefour Péligre. Another comrade-in-arms was injured.

Law enforcement has the green light
A decree signed by the entire government during the last Council of Ministers gives law enforcement the green light to use all available resources necessary to combat the criminal groups responsible.

At least sixty bandits killed
On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Commissioner Délin Boyer, Departmental Director of the Haitian National Police (PNH) Center, revealed that at least sixty bandits had been killed by law enforcement, while five others were executed by the population as part of Operation Bwa Kale during the gang attacks on Mirebalais and Saut-d'Eau, the Departmental Director of the PNH Center said on Tuesday. He also reported at least fifteen members.

Dominican Consulates in Haiti will remain closed
During the weekly press briefing La Semanal, President Luis Abinader, when asked about the possibility of reopening diplomatic missions in Haiti, which have been closed for two years, replied, "We cannot open the consulates now, given the current situation in Haiti; that's the reality. We cannot !"

No news of two journalists
