On Monday, April 14, 2025, at least five explosions attributed to suicide drone strikes were heard in the lower downtown area of Port-au-Prince, according to residents living nearby. Explosions were reported near Village de Dieu, located in the Bicentenaire neighborhood. The results of these drone attacks have not been officially released... Security : Cooperation with a Spanish firm ? On Monday, April 14, 2025, Carl Eric Barthelus, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Haiti in Spain, met with Antonio Ramírez González, President of Technology & Security Developments (TSD), a firm specializing in the development of integrated security solutions. The discussion focused on security cooperation to support the Haitian government's efforts to strengthen the material and human capacities of law enforcement in their fight against armed gangs. WHO assists Mirebalais Hospital The World Health Organization (WHO) has sent 1.5 tons of medical supplies (emergency kits, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), etc.) to the Center's Health Directorate to respond to the emergency at Mirebalais Hospital. Thanks to the support of EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid, this shipment will cover 50 surgical procedures and primary care for more than 1,000 patients. Orlando : Next Mobile Consulate The Consulate of Haiti in Orlando informs the Haitian Community of Central Florida that the next "Mobile Consulate" in Jacksonville will take place on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Jacksonville Evangelical Church located at 570 Ellis Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32254. Chatelas : Road Rehabilitation Funded by Farmers The Progressive Association of Chatelas (commune of Saint-Marc) has been carrying out improvement work on the section of road between Chardène and Chatelas since March. This community project consists of concreting a road strip approximately 2 kilometers long in two sections, connecting the local cemetery to Morne Mélaneau. It is entirely funded by the resources of farmers who have chosen to use their limited means to turn their challenges into opportunities. Chatelas, the first section of Bois-Neuf, in the commune of Saint-Marc, is located about twenty kilometers from the city of Saint-Marc.
