Haiti - Culture : Young Ambassadors Program, registration open
The Youth Ambassadors Program is a cultural exchange program sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the United States Department of State. The program is administered by World Learning, in association with Georgetown University.

Its goal is to develop a cadre of young adults from across the Americas who possess a strong sense of civic responsibility, commitment to their communities, an awareness of global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills. The program aims to promote mutual understanding, respect, and collaboration among people in the United States and other countries in the Western Hemisphere. The program is open to adolescents ages 15 to 18 and adult mentors.

What participants learn from the program: Leadership; Intercultural Relations; Teamwork; Professional Development; Global Perspectives; Community Service; Language Skills.

Through various activities, participants will explore topics such as citizenship, leadership, community service, social transformation, and youth. Fellows will benefit from hands-on learning through leadership training, civic participation at the community level, and mentoring by community, business, and NGO leaders and volunteers.

Eligibility Requirements :
• Be a citizen and resident of Haiti, specifically living in the North and Northeast regions;
• Be between 15 and 18 years old;
• Be in Secondary IV (Philosophy) at the latest, in November 2025;
• Demonstrate leadership and community involvement potential;
• Have parental/legal guardian authorization to participate in the Local Program in Haiti.

All mentor candidates must meet the following requirements :
• Be a citizen and resident of Haiti, specifically living in the North and Northeast regions
• Have actively worked with youth in schools or a community setting;
• Be willing and able to meet with youth periodically after the exchange to support the implementation of community engagement projects.

Program Details :
The program will take place in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, in a hybrid format (in-person and online) for five days from November 14 to 18, 2025. Students will be housed in a hotel where leadership and professional development courses will be offered. In addition, other youth from the American host community will participate virtually via Zoom to facilitate intercultural exchange.
