Haiti - Politic : Grievances of the diaspora of New Jersey

On official travel to the United States, Daniel Supplice, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) had a meeting last Saturday with Jude De Ronceray, Secretary General of the Movement for National Development (MDN), abroad. During the meeting where was also present the stadd of MDN, the Secretary General has submitted to the Minister Supplice a list of grievances of the Haitian community of New Jersey

Among the main grievances of the Diaspora of New Jersey there is :

- The publication of the amended Constitution which promotes multiple nationality ;

- Explanation of the management of funds collected on money transfers and telephone calls to Haiti ;

- The modernization of port infrastructure in Haiti ;

- The reduction of tariffs, deemed exorbitant ;

- The creation of an electoral section in each Consulate and Embassy for voting abroad ;

- The application of electronic voting in Haiti and in the diaspora to facilitate and make more credible the electoral process.

The MDN said it was very interested to work with the MHAVE in order to achieve satisfaction of their list of grievances.
