![]() Haiti - Politic : Sunrise Airways obtains a third operating certificate in the Caribbean 29/04/2025 10:03:14
On April 16, after a first year of operations in the Lesser Antilles as a member of Caricom, Sunrise Airways obtained its air operator certificate from the aviation authorities of Antigua and Barbuda for its third airline, Sunrise Airways Dominica (Antigua & Barbuda), joining Sunrise Airways SA (Haiti) and Sunrise Airways Dominicana (Dominican Republic). This certificate, issued by the authorities that are part of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), will allow Sunrise Airways to have international access to the 12 members of the Organization. Sunrise emphasizes, "Obtaining a certificate is a long and rigorous process. This 'permit to fly' proves that the company is in good administrative and legal standing, has qualified personnel, has adequate safety procedures, and possesses the technical and financial resources to operate aircraft safely. Sunrise Airways, which has become a major player in the region's skies, meets all the criteria of a demanding sector and a highly competitive market." About Sunrise Airways: Since 2012, Sunrise Airways has been developing an air network with the aim of connecting the capitals and islands that share a common space and a common future in the Caribbean region. With 11 operational bases and 250 employees, Sunrise Airways has transported more than 1.7 million passengers between Haitian cities and destinations in the region, from Florida to the Lesser Antilles, including Cuba, Guadeloupe, Panama, Miami, Saint Martin, and, since 2024, its new eastern network, which serves Antigua, Saint Kitts, Dominica, and Saint Lucia.
