Tuesday was held an International Colloquium on Education at the Hotel Karibe, many personalities were present, the Hollywood actor Sean Pean, designer Donna Karan, Wong G and the Honorary Consul of Haiti in the Czech Republic, Petra Nemcova ... together with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and other groups, they discussed and reflected on how they could channel aid that many NGOs give to Haiti, and on practical solutions to the problems of funding of the education in Haiti, providing at the same time their support to the Government and to the Program of free education of Présidnet Martelly for Haitian children.

"...the education sector is a priority sector, but there is a problem, many of the aid for Haiti are scattered, so the Minister of Education has wanted today convene a large part of international stars [which helps Haiti], the Ministry of Foreign Affairs collaborated by bringing here these personalities [...] we made four teams, each team is responsible of a strategic aspect of the cooperation for education in Haiti [...] the funding [investments in the construction of modern schools], the quality of education, how to send children to school for free, and another group will take care of fundraising [in favor of Haiti through the world] to send children to school for free [...] So it is a movement of coordination of NGOs so that they can bring, of a better way, assistance to children so that they can go to school [...] the movement that we have made today it is a movement of motivation with the biggest international stars to motivate people to support education in Haiti..." explained the Foreign Minister, Laurent Lamothe.

The Chancellor Lamothe noted an significant participation of NGOs in the educational effort in Haiti, but he believes that aid is badly distributed. Abundant in the same direction, the Minister of Education, Mr. Réginald Paul, announced his intention to bring international experts together with the Foreign Minister in order to learn to the staff of the Haitian education system to build their schools to take care of them and to continue the the training program of trainers.

For Petra Nemcova, it's time to act "less talk more actions"

For her part, Donna Karan, renowned American designer, depositary of the international brand DKNY (Donna Karan of New York), has announced its intention to invest fully in educational programs for remote communities in the country .

Sean Penn said, for his part, the Haitian chose new dynamic leaders who want to finally help the country with new international alliances.

Over 903.000 children are entering school for free this year, according to the Foreign Minister, Laurent Lamothe, who believes that the participation of renowned international stars will greatly help in finding more investment in education.
