This Friday, December 16, 2011 brings the 21st anniversary of the election of Jean Bertrand Aristide at the head of the country, the Fanmi Lavalas political organization will mark that date.

A large rally at the Foundation Dr. Aristide for Democracy is expected to Tabarre "It will be an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the peaceful struggle for Democracy and give the kick-off of temporary departmental coordinations in the perspective of departmental convention and national convention," says Dr. Maryse Narcisse, coordinator of the Executive Committee of Fanmi Lavalas.

Ms. Narcisse stresses that December 16, 1990 was the culmination of a series of struggles of the oppressed in favor of social justice, in that sense she invites everyone to take part in activities, not just supporters of Fanmi Lavalas.

The coordinator also indicated that the Fanmi Lavalas is being strengthened throughout the country and that the organization prepares its national convention. In addition she points out that former President Aristide plays since his return in March, a simple role of advisor within Fanmi Lavalas, he works in favor of other activities in the field of education, including the University of the Aristide Foundation (UNIFA), which reopened in September.
