Haiti - Technology : Minister Hosty in favor of an inclusive digital transformation

On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the Karibe Hotel hosted DevExpo 2025, a major event dedicated to technological innovation and startup development in Haiti.

In his speech, Raphaël Hosty, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications, who participated in the event, emphasized that the chosen theme, "Supporting the Growth of High-Impact Technology Startups in Haiti," perfectly aligns with the strategic priorities of his Ministry and the Haiti Digital Acceleration Project (HNAP), supported by the World Bank.

"Digital technology is now an essential lever for expanding access to public services, stimulating sustainable employment, and accelerating local innovation," he declared, highlighting the tangible progress made by HNAP : improving the regulatory framework through CONATEL, expanding public connectivity, building capacity through specialized training, structuring cybersecurity, and creating innovation labs.

Reaffirming his Ministry's commitment to a modern digital infrastructure, a coherent strategic framework, and an ecosystem conducive to technology entrepreneurship, the Minister called on young developers to become key players in this ongoing transformation by co-building digital solutions, getting involved in public initiatives, and embodying inclusive and responsible technology governance.

"Digital technology is our common language with the future. Thanks to you, Haiti can embark on a decidedly more connected, more equitable, and more innovative path," he concluded.
