Haiti - Referendum/Elections : The CEP strengthens synergy with its partners

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), jointly with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized an operational planning workshop this week with its national and international partners.

Through this initiative, the CEP aimed, in particular, to strengthen inter-institutional synergy with its partners and develop an indicative plan of operations to be undertaken for the efficient organization of the referendum and electoral processes.

The work, conducted in groups, enabled fruitful discussions on the actions to be undertaken to continue the referendum and electoral processes. The groups, made up of CEP officials and partner national and international institutions, worked on various topics such as the operationalization of decentralized structures, the electoral register, diaspora voting, logistics, security, training, communication, and civic education, among others.

At the end of the discussions, draft sectoral calendars and budgets were developed by all stakeholders. These proposals should enable the Electoral Council to work on a revised timetable and budget for the organization of the constitutional referendum.

The CEP reiterates its commitment to making every effort to conduct the referendum and electoral processes in a completely independent, impartial, and inclusive manner.
