The State Department advises travelers to prepare their wills

The State Department, in its travel advisory, recommends that U.S. citizens who decide to travel to Haiti "[...] Draft a will and designate appropriate insurance beneficiaries and/or power of attorney, put your financial affairs in order."

ONI : Mobile Caravan

The National Identification Office (ONI) deployed a mobile caravan in the Nord department on February 18, 2025. The objective was to facilitate access to the national identification card, particularly in often-neglected rural areas. According to Engineer Jean Carlo Darbouze, ONI's North coordinator, five mobile teams traveled to 14 of the department's 19 communes, covering 53 communal sections. Thanks to this operation, 19,751 people were registered and 9,457 national identification cards were issued, representing nearly 48% of the initial forecast.

UNICEF : 5 hostages released

On Monday, July 28, 2025, five employees of UNICEF, the United Nations children's organization, were released after being held by a gang since July 7. It is unknown if a ransom was paid.
