Haiti - Insecurity : Two OFATMA Hospital employees shot and wounded

The General Directorate of the Office of Workplace Accident, Sickness, and Maternity Insurance (OFATMA) expresses its deep concern and grief following the incident that occurred on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., in the Simon Pelé area, where two employees of the OFATMA Hospital in Cité Militaire were shot and injured while on their way to an administrative mission.

According to available information, Stanley Lefèvre, Head of General Services, accompanied by Roody Steves, a warehouse worker in the same department, were traveling in an institutional vehicle to the central office in Tabarre when they were shot.

Stanley Lefevre was shot in the right arm and was immediately treated by the medical services of the OFATMA Hospital in Cité Militaire.

Roody Steves was shot in the back. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was urgently transferred to Médecins Sans Frontières in Tabarre for specialized care.

Faced with this tragedy, the General Directorate extends its best wishes for a speedy recovery to both victims and reiterates its unwavering support to their families and to all the staff at the OFATMA Hospital in Cité Militaire, who have been deeply affected by this incident.

OFATMA reaffirms its commitment to supporting the victims, both medically and psychosocially, and encourages all its staff to demonstrate solidarity, resilience, and vigilance during these difficult times.
