Haiti - Sports : Opening of the Sports Centre of Gressier
The President of the Republic, Michel Martelly accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs. Sophia Martelly, has participated, this Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the inauguration of a sports center in the town of Gressier.

Baptized 'Parc Saint-Jean Baptiste', this modern sports complex with a football field and basketball court was built at the initiative of the Adviser to the Head of State for Sport and Youth, Mr Olivier Martelly, as part of the program "Foutbòl pou chanjman" which provides the creation of a sports facility of the same type in each department of the country.

In the presence of Mayor of the commune, Jean Valcius Estinval, the deputy Jean Ronald Oscar and of Sports Minister, Mr Jean Roosevelt, the project director, Mr Olivier Martelly, said he was proud to serve the people of Gressier. He took the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to continue to serve youth. "The realization of this project is a dream become true," welcomed Mr. Martelly.

Thousands of people expressing their gratitude for the erection of this infrastructure in their communities have made the trip on this occasion, to enhance the brightness of the ceremony marked of cheerfulness and friendliness.

A football match between the T-Micky formation to that of Jaguar of Gressier, spectacular dance and acrobatics shows, and the exhibition of a group of paratroopers are among other activities that punctuated the event.
