Closure of the American Embassy

Monday, August 4th, 2025, fire fed on automatic weapons that occurred near the United States Embassy in Tabarre forced the US authorities to close the mission and to confine all staff inside the complex. The State Department indicated that all official trips of the personnel have been suspended.

PNH will intensify its operations

On Sunday, August 3rd, Rameau Normil, director general a.i of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), held a strategic meeting with members of the High-Commandment, the Departmental Directors of West 1 and 2, and managers of specialized units. During this meeting, Normil made an evaluation of its operational plan and passed instructions to intensify operations in order to relentlessly continue the fight against the anti-gangs throughout the territory.
