FLASH Brazil Visa

US Embassy Reopening

After being forced to close its doors and confine its staff on Monday, August 4, due to intense gunfire near its premises in Tabarre, the United States Embassy in Port-au-Prince resumed normal operations on Tuesday. It indicated that all scheduled appointments for services to American citizens and visa applications were still open.

USA : Haiti Not on the Bond List

Haiti is not on the new list of countries subject to the bond measure imposed by the US authorities for obtaining a B1/B2 visa. According to a notice published on August 5 by the State Department, only nationals of Malawi and Zambia will be required, starting August 20, to pay a bond of between $5,000 and $15,000 to enter the United States via Boston, New York (JFK), and Washington Dulles airports. This amount will be refunded if the visa holder departs the United States within the authorized timeframe.

Cité Soleil : 100 Young Graduates in 5 Professions

In Cité Soleil, 100 young people earned their diplomas in cooking, sewing, leatherwork, screen printing, and event decoration as part of the "Chanjman Bèl N ap Fè l" project, supported by Canada. The Organization of American States (OAS) in Haiti remains committed to working with organizations to provide real employment and self-reliance opportunities in the most vulnerable neighborhoods.

Customs : 11.5 billion Gourdes in July

According to the General Administration of Customs, revenue collected in July 2025 reached 11.5 billion Gourdes, out of a forecast of 12.5 billion. "This decrease is mainly explained by the closure of several border crossings, such as Malpasse, Belladère, and Thomassique, which were blocked by armed groups. However, revenue is up 20% compared to July 2024.
