Independence debt : pressure on Macron

More than 60 human rights organizations have signed a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, demanding that Haiti be compensated for the large sums paid as "ransom" to France after its independence. This letter comes 200 years after the newly independent Haitian government accepted the payments, which Haiti considers a ransom paid under the threat of invasion. This double debt, compounded by interest payments, was repaid over a century.

Being informed is already protecting yourself

Natural risks : being informed is already protecting yourself. Thanks to the new protocol signed with community radio stations, official alerts and instructions will be able to circulate faster, further, and reach more families. The objective: to reduce risks, save lives, and strengthen community resilience. With more than 70 community radio stations mobilized across the country, the Directorate of Civil Protection, the Society for Social Animation and Communication, and the Haitian Community Radio Women's Network ensure that every alert message and every safety advice reaches even the most remote areas. Because in an emergency, rapid information saves lives.
