FLASH : Call for Projects

The French Embassy in Haiti is launching a call for projects to fund Haitian civil society organizations working to promote women's social and economic rights. Liancourt : Bandit Massacre

On Thursday, September 4th, during an operation conducted in the commune of Liancourt (Artibonite) by Divisional Commissioner Jacques Ader, Departmental Director of Artibonite, no fewer than seven bandits were killed and several others injured. Police officers were reportedly slightly injured, but their lives are not in danger; no official figures have confirmed the number. According to witnesses, the bandits were attempting to take control of the police station in this town.

US Open : Naomi defeated in the semifinals

On the night of Thursday, September 4th to Friday, September 5th, at the US Open, Haitian-born Japanese player Naomi Osaka (ranked 24) lost after a hard-fought match lasting nearly three hours to American Amanda Anisimova (ranked 9 in the world) in three sets [6-7, 7-6, 6-3]. Amanda Anisimova will face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (27 years old), world number 1, in the final.

Kamikaze drones in Fontamara

On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, at least one kamikaze drone exploded in Fontamara, in the territory of the "Ti Bwa" gang led by leader Chery Christ-Roi, alias "Chris-La." According to witnesses, the drone targeted a toll booth, causing damage, the extent of which remains to be determined. No reliable death toll is available.

OAS/USA meeting on the Security Council resolution

Albert Ramdin, Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), met on September 3rd, 2025, with Brian Grimm, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of International Organization Affairs of the United States Department of State, and Lee Lipton, Acting Permanent Representative of the United States to the OAS. Discussions focused on cooperation around the United Nations Security Council resolution aimed at addressing the urgent security crisis in Haiti.

The Presidential Transitional Council congratulates our senior Grenadiers

On Friday, September 4th, 2025, the Presidential Transitional Council (PTC) extended its congratulations and thanks to the senior men's national football team for its qualification to the final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, a milestone the Grenadiers had not reached in over 40 years. The PTC commends the team's victorious performance in the previous rounds. This success reawakens the enthusiasm and pride of a nation eager to relive the thrill of a historic second World Cup qualification, after 1974. The first group match, Haiti vs. Honduras, will take place this Friday, September 5, at 8:00 p.m. (local and Port-au-Prince time) on the pitch at the Stadion Ergilio Hato, Willemstad, Curaçao.
