Haiti - FLASH : A first contingent of FAd'H soldiers has completed its training in Mexico (video)

On Friday, September 19, 2025, a first contingent of 143 Haitian soldiers from the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), 15 women and 128 men, completed military training provided by the Mexican army as part of a bilateral agreement, in the fight against armed gangs that control part of Haitian territory, including more than 80% of the capital, Port-au-Prince.

For 8 weeks, these 143 soldiers underwent military training during which they practiced self-defense, shooting, and acquired knowledge about human rights. They will now join their brothers in arms on the ground in Haiti.

"As of today, you return to your country with military knowledge and the physical and spiritual strength necessary to loyally serve your people and your authorities," said Lieutenant Colonel Juan Manuel Campos Rodríguez, Director of the Army Training Center, during a closing ceremony at a military camp in the State of Mexico, north of the capital.

"The skills acquired by this class significantly enhance the capabilities of the Haitian Armed Forces, enabling them to better serve and protect the Haitian people," said Haitian Ambassador to Mexico Hubert Labbé.

The Haitian soldiers thanked Mexico for this support. "This type of support is essential for the Haitian Armed Forces to increase their operational capacity and ensure security and peace for our nation," said Haitian soldier Accilien Jimmy.
