FLASH : Haitian passport fee reduction

To balance the processing of Haitian passport applications, the Chancery has adjusted the fees. The cost for an adult over 18 is now US$125 (instead of US$170), and for a minor, it is US$100 (instead of US$160). Emergency or extreme emergency services will no longer be offered to ensure a uniform process for all. The website of the Embassy of Haiti in the United States has been updated with these new fees : https://www.haiti.org/fees1/

8 Armored Vehicles Arrive in Saint Marc

On Thursday, after being blocked by residents in Pont Sondé, eight armored vehicles and more than thirty police officers from specialized units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) arrived in Saint-Marc, in the Artibonite region. Operations against the "Gran Grif" and "Korkorat San Ras" gangs will begin once all the necessary equipment and personnel are in place.

Councilor Vertilaire Ready to Stay After February 7

Presidential Advisor Emmanuel Vertilaire acknowledges that the term of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) will end on February 7, 2026, in accordance with the agreement of April 3, 2024, and says he is ready to step down. However, the representative of the radical political party "Pitit Desalin" does not rule out the possibility of continuing to serve the country at this level, if a new agreement is reached between the various stakeholders.

Digicel : 195th School Construction

The Digicel Foundation launched its 195th school construction project at Calvaire Sainte Thérèse (Cap Haïtien). This project, funded with US$600,000, also pays tribute to the artist Michael Benjamin, known as Mikaben, Ambassador of Digicel, who passed away in 2022.

The Embassy of Haiti, Washington, D.C., informs the Haitian community that it will be closed on October 13, 2025, for the federal holiday: Columbus Day. Regular Embassy activities will resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Inauguration of an Operating Room

The Ministry of Public Health, with the support of the United Nations agency for sexual and reproductive health (UNFPA) and the "Timama 2" project, inaugurated the operating room of the maternity ward of the South Departmental Hospital. Support in the form of materials and equipment, supplies, and human resources was provided.
