On Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, in the Simon Pelé and Village Solidarité neighborhoods, a major police operation involving several elite units—SWAT, the Anti-Gang Tactical Unit (UTAG), and the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO)—launched an assault against a gang led by a man known as "Jouma". Kamikaze drones were reportedly used to neutralize fortified terrorist positions. Law enforcement officers are said to have cleared several strategic routes connecting Cité Militaire to Simon Pelé. No official casualty figures have been released, but according to various preliminary reports, numerous gang members were killed during the intense exchange of fire with law enforcement, and there were also civilian casualties.
