Patrick Pélissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security, promises that measures will be taken to prevent the use of illicit funds in financing election campaigns, recalling that a budget of 3 billion gourdes is allocated for the 2025-2026 fiscal year to finance political parties. These funds will be used to provide food aid and support to displaced persons. Haiti's Ambassador to Canada Meets with Students On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Anthony Dessources, Ambassador of the Republic of Haiti to Canada, received a delegation from the University of Ottawa Student Club (CEHUO). This initial courtesy meeting allowed Ambassador Dessources to gain a better understanding of the Haitian student community at uOttawa and the activities undertaken by the club to promote Haitian values and support Haitian students at the University of Ottawa. Mr. Dessources commended CEHUO's commitment and reaffirmed his desire to strengthen collaboration between the diplomatic mission and Haitian student organizations in Canada. 15,000 Hot Meals Distributed As part of the Kantin Mobil (KM) program, FAES carried out a major distribution of 15,000 hot meals (sticky rice and stew) to internally displaced persons in Port-au-Prince and Pétion-Ville on Saturday, November 1st, 2025. The meals were distributed at several locations: • 2,200 at Club International, Frères, Pétion-Ville • 2,100 at DDO, Rue Duncombe, Port-au-Prince • 5,400 at the MORMON Site, Avenue Christophe • 1,300 at the OPL Site, Avenue Christophe • 1,000 at Sogesol, Lalue • 3,000 at Communications 1, Bois-Verna This action reaffirms FAES's commitment to supporting the most vulnerable populations with consistency and dignity.
