Melissa : Provisional Death Toll Rises to 43

On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the Haitian government announced that the death toll from Hurricane Melissa had risen to 43, with 21 injured and 13 people still missing. Rescue teams continued their efforts to reach communities in the southwest of the country, where landslides and flooding devastated more than 30 towns and villages.

EU and OAS to Build Forward Operating Bases

On Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, the European Union Delegation and the Organization of American States (OAS) Representation, as part of a project to strengthen the operational capacities of the Haitian National Police (PNH) and the Gang Supression Force (FRG), committed to building and equipping five forward operating bases in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area, as well as mobile patrol units in the West Department.

Bandits Retreat front the PNH

Coordinated operations continued along Haile Selassie Avenue, targeting gang hideouts near Bernard Mevs Hospital. Despite strong resistance, law enforcement managed to clear the surrounding roads by removing heavy barricades, without suffering any losses. The Haitian National Police (PNH) has thus confirmed the success of its operations to restore order and freedom of movement.

USA Melissa : $8.5 Million Aid for Haiti

The United States has released an initial tranche of $24 million in vital emergency aid for Jamaica, Haiti, the Bahamas, and Cuba to assist those affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. Secretary of State Rubio authorized $8.5 million of this amount for Haiti.

Haiti must not be considered a land of plunder where one comes to enrich oneself, launder money, protect oneself, or seek revenge. HPV Vaccination Campaign

Dr. Bertrand Sinal, Minister of Public Health, announced a vaccination campaign against human papillomavirus (HPV) to prevent cervical cancer in the most vulnerable young adolescent girls.
