Haiti - FLASH : Terrorists killed and wounded, weapons and ammunition seized, PNH helicopter set on fire

On Friday, November 14, a major police operation in the Cul-de-Sac plain, which began the night of November 13 and involved several specialized units, armored vehicles, and three troop transport helicopters, sowed panic among the population, frightened by the violent clashes between law enforcement and terrorists and the intensity of the gunfire.

The preliminary report from Divisional Inspector Garry Desrosiers, spokesperson for the Haitian National Police (PNH), indicates at least seven terrorists fatally wounded and numerous others injured, as well as the seizure of several assault weapons and ammunition, including a .50 caliber American Barrett rifle, a high-precision, large-caliber sniper rifle with an effective range of 2,800 meters capable of penetrating a 2-centimeter-thick steel plate at a distance of several hundred meters when using armor-piercing ammunition. Desrosiers specified that there were no casualties among the Haitian National Police (PNH).

A helicopter used by the PNH was destroyed. In an official statement, the PNH explained : "During an operation conducted in Croix-des-Bouquets, specifically in the Santo and Lilavois neighborhoods, a Haitian National Police (PNH) helicopter supporting ground units made a forced landing on Friday, November 14, 2025. This maneuver was necessitated by noises suggesting a mechanical failure.

Following this incident, the 8 officers on board were secured and safely evacuated by ground units. Before evacuating the area, they proceeded to destroy the aircraft by fire." This decision aimed to prevent the helicopter, which was beyond immediate recovery, from falling into the hands of terrorists.
