Haiti - Canada : Donation of 13 fire trucks and 10 ambulances

Pierre Canisius Guignard, Director General of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities, alongside Alfred Metellus, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Renand Aristide, Director General of the National Ambulance Center (CAN), participated in the closing ceremony of the first aid and emergency response training organized by the Canadian Peace and Security Officer Training Association (CPSOTA) in collaboration with the Haitian government. Among those present were the Mayors of Pétion-Ville and Delmas, as well as numerous senior officials from the public administration.

This 15-day seminar allowed dozens of personnel from the National Ambulance Center (CAN), the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Civil Protection Directorate (DGPC), and the fire department to enhance their skills in paramedics, first aid, and various types of firefighting. They were able to familiarize themselves with new techniques to be more capable and effective in responding to emergencies and disasters.

For Pierre Canisius Guignard, this training session is an opportunity for the country's emergency response organizations to strengthen themselves and ensure public safety. Guignard expressed his satisfaction that the Civil Protection officers and firefighters from the municipalities of Pétion-Ville, Delmas, Port-au-Prince, Tabarre, and Carrefour, in particular, will see their capabilities increase.

To conclude this training, CPSOTA donated specialized equipment valued at $3,125,000 USD, including 13 fully equipped fire trucks, 10 ambulances, and a container of miscellaneous equipment.
