The US will review all Haitian green cards

The Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that, at the instruction of President Donald Trump, all green cards issued to individuals from 19 countries considered to be of concern will be reviewed. The countries in question are : Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.

CAS denies rumors

Johny Raphaël, Director General of the Social Assistance Fund (CAS), denied rumors of mass revocations at a press conference. He maintains that no CAS employee has been laid off. However, he acknowledges that some expired contracts have not been renewed, a measure that particularly affects contractors working abroad, all of whom are fully paid, without any arrears.

Electoral Calendar Unchanged

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), within its jurisdiction, will publish the Electoral Calendar https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46218-haiti-flash-official-calendar-of-upcoming-elections.html after the publication of the Electoral Decree in the official gazette, Le Moniteur. It should be noted that attempts by the Transitional Council to modify the electoral calendar have failed.

New York : An Annual Compas Day ?

Rita Joseph, City Councilor for Brooklyn's 40th Ward, introduced Resolution 987, aiming to officially recognize July 26 (the founding date of Tabou Combo in 1968) as Haitian Compas Day in all five boroughs of New York City.

Government Council Meeting Prior to Publication of the Electoral Decree

On Friday, November 28, 2025, a Government Council meeting was held with members of the Presidential Transitional Council (in the absence of Fritz Alphonse Jean and Edgard Leblanc Fils) to expedite the review of the draft electoral decree. The decree is expected to be approved by the Council of Ministers on Monday, December 1st, 2025.

DCPJ: Drug Trafficking

The Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) has submitted a partial report to the Government Commissioner of Port-de-Paix and wishes to question several key figures in the investigation into the seizure of 1.045 kilograms of cocaine on July 13, 2025, on Île de la Tortue (Tortuga Island) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-45331-icihaiti-turtle-island-seizure-of-more-than-a-ton-of-cocaine.html by the Bureau for Combating Drug Trafficking (BLTS) and the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO). The justice system is now seeking to identify all those involved in this trafficking.
