Engineer Raphaël Hosty, Minister of Public Works, participated in a meeting on the progress of the runway rehabilitation work at Cap-Haitien International Airport (AICH).

This strategic meeting took place at the offices of COAMCO Haiti S.A., the company in charge of the project.

In attendance were representatives from the World Bank, a major financial partner, as well as representatives from the company in charge of the project, representatives from the Project Management Assistance team, and a team from the Ministry of Public Works.

The discussions provided an opportunity to review the progress made, identify potential challenges, and coordinate the efforts of all stakeholders. The reaffirmed objective is to ensure strict adherence to deadlines and international quality standards.

Following the meeting, the Minister, accompanied by his delegation, visited the airport runway and control tower. The latter will undergo imminent renovations, as part of the overall modernization and security upgrade of all airport facilities.

The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the progress made and warmly thanked the World Bank for its continued support of this project, deemed vital for providing Cap-Haïtien with a modern and efficient air gateway, essential for the region's economic, tourism, and social development.
