Haiti - Social : The Place Boyer finally free of its occupants

Tuesday, January 3, 2012, Claire Lydie Parent, Mayor of Petion Ville accompanied by Luc Ondoua, project manager for the relocation of refugees from places Saint Pierre and Boyer, as well as some municipal officials and some police officers of the brigade UDMO, has made proceed with the evacuation of few refugees who still lived on the Boyer Place.

During this operation, several tents were destroyed in order to free up space. According to Luc Ondoua, 722 families were identified and relocated in different areas of the capital "A sum of 20,000 gourdes was given to each family and the construction of temporary shelters have been conducted for some other families who benefit from a landscaped area for this purpose. These tents that we crush are nothing more than tents abandoned for a long time. People have been informed that the relocation process is underway, they came back to take advantage of the situation" stated the Mayor of Petion Ville.

Luc Ondoua reported that the camp of Canapé Vert and Sylvio Cator will soon be freed.
