Haiti - FLASH FIFA World Cup 2026 : «D-Day» Draw, Haiti will know its opponents

This Friday, December 5, 2025, at noon (Port-au-Prince time), less than 200 days before the kickoff of the 23rd FIFA Men's World Cup, the Organizing Committee will conduct the official draw at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

There will be four pots for this first 48-team World Cup. Teams will be divided according to their FIFA ranking. A total of 12 groups of four teams will be formed to accommodate the 48 teams, each of which will play three matches – a format unprecedented in this competition.

52 years after the epic 1974 World Cup (Germany), our Grenadiers are placed in Pot 4, among the Nations already qualified and those from the intercontinental playoffs. They will discover their group and opponents after the draw.

A FIFA meeting will be held the following day in Washington to finalize the schedule for the 2026 World Cup. Some times and stadiums may be modified during this meeting. FIFA will announce the official schedule after this meeting.

A delegation from the Haitian Football Federation will be present for the draw. This delegation is composed of : Monique André, President of the Federation's Normalization Committee; Patrick Massenat, General Secretary of the FHF; Sébastien Migné, Head Coach of the Haitian National Team; and Peterson Desormeau Iscenté, Team Manager of the national team. Wilner Nazaire, captain of the Haitian national team at the 1974 World Cup, is a special guest of FIFA, invited at the recommendation of the President of the Normalization Committee; Thecieux Jeanty, a member of the FHF (Haitian Football Federation) communications team; and Jean Pierre Étienne, a sports journalist.

Wilner Nazaire's presence in the delegation is a way for the Federation to honor all those who have paved the way since 1974.

This draw will be broadcast live internationally.
