Delmas 33 : Durmonay Market Burned Down
On the night of December 10-11, 2025, around 11:00 p.m., a fire ravaged the Durmonay market located in Delmas 33. Despite the rapid intervention of the firefighters, the blaze destroyed everything, and until 1:00 a.m., several residents near the market had to evacuate their homes, threatened by the flames. The losses for the vendors are considerable. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Panic at OFATMA Offices
On Thursday, December 11, 2025, in Tabarre, heavily armed individuals stormed the offices of the Office of Occupational Accident, Illness, and Maternity Insurance (OFATMA), causing widespread panic among the staff. However, all employees escaped unharmed from the incident and were sent home as a precaution.

New record for Customs
Despite the challenging context marked by insecurity, the General Customs Administration (AGD) set a new record in November 2025, collecting over 10.6 billion gourdes in just three weeks, a 6% increase compared to the previous year.

FIFA Ranking : Our Grenadières Drop One Place
On Thursday, December 11, 2025, in the last FIFA ranking of the year, our Grenadières dropped one place from 49th to 50th position with 1493 points, a consequence of their defeats in international friendly matches against Canada : [4-1 and 3-1[. against Morocco: [3-0] and against Chile : [2-1]. In the CONCACAF Women's Champions League, our Grenadières are in 6th place and 2nd in the Caribbean zone.

National Cancer Treatment Institute
On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Villa d’Accueil, Transitional Presidential Advisors Louis Gérald Gilles and Leslie Voltaire established the Steering Committee for the project to create the National Cancer Treatment Institute. Advisor Gilles thanked Alfred Fils Métellus, the Minister of Economy and Finance, who allocated a budget line for this project in the 2025-2026 budget.
