2026 : The Year of the NINU

The National Identification Office (ONI) announces that starting in the first quarter of 2026, every child born in Haiti will be automatically assigned a Unique National Identification Number (NINU), which will be integrated into the modernized birth certificate. Eventually, the NINU is expected to replace the Taxpayer Identification Number (NIF).

Kenscoff : Joint Operation (video)

On Friday, December 12, 2025, a joint operation was conducted in the commune of Kenscoff at "Kafou Konbit" by the Haitian National Police (PNH) and the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H). Several specialized units have been mobilized with the objectives of clearing roads and conducting targeted operations against armed groups.

Southeast : Security for the Holiday Season

As the holiday season approaches, Divisional Commissioner Magalie Belneau, the Southeast Departmental Director of Police, met on December 11 with the Municipal Commissioners, Divisional Inspectors, heads of police stations and substations in the department's three districts and municipalities, as well as the heads of various services. The purpose of this meeting was to develop a security plan to allow the public to enjoy their festive activities with peace of mind.

Santiago ONI Service Closed

The Consulate General of Haiti in Santiago (DR) informs the community that services related to the National Identification Office (ONI) will be suspended on Monday, December 15, Tuesday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 17, 2025, due to ongoing training aimed at improving service quality. ONI services will resume on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at regular hours.
