Haiti - Wishes 2026 : End of Year Message from HaitiLibre 25/12/2025 09:09:14
As the shadows of a year drawing to a close lengthen, our land sinks into the depths of a profound night, scarred by the blind violence and assaults of those whose only law is terror and chaos. Today, more than five million of our brothers and sisters face the specter of hunger; for them, Christmas will not be a celebration, but yet another vigil of survival under the yoke of poverty and fear. 2025 will be remembered as a year of ashes and tears, in which 1.4 million souls were forced to abandon their homes and their meager possessions, the fruit of a lifetime of labor, to flee the bloodthirsty murderers. We mourn these thousands of lives cut short, these bodies bruised, and these freedoms confiscated by abductions. Our hearts bleed especially for the women and girls, targets of a barbarity that tears apart intimacy and human dignity. May our prayers rise at the dawn of the new year so that this long ordeal may come to an end. May our faith in brighter tomorrows remain unwavering, so that we may journey together toward the rebirth of our beloved Haiti. Greetings and Gratitude : In these uncertain times, the HaitiLibre team extends its sincerest wishes to its readers here and in the diaspora from all walks of life. May 2026 bring you renewed security, health, and the inner strength forged from patience, tolerance, and love. We wish to express our immense gratitude to those who, through their sharing and reflections, sustain our community. Our gratitude also goes to those unsung heroes, volunteer informants and correspondents, who, at the risk of their own peace of mind, allow us to bear witness to the reality of our "alma mater." To our 211,000 fans and readers on Facebook, and our 87,300 followers on X, thank you for amplifying our voice. For over 15 years, HaïtiLibre has strived to be a faithful and indispensable mirror for every Haitian, wherever they may be. Your loyalty is the driving force behind our commitment. May God protect and bless you. May light return to Haiti.
