Grand'Anse : Training for 1,000 goat farmers:

Thanks to the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS IT), 1,000 goat farmers in Grande Anse have strengthened their goat farming skills through training provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO - Haiti) on animal health and pasture management.

125,000 Gourdes for the "Joumou Soup"

As part of the Community Restaurants program, the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) distributed checks totaling 125,000 gourdes to the OPC displaced persons camps and the Colombia National School to facilitate the preparation and distribution of the traditional "Joumou Soup” on January 1, 2026.

Post-Melissa : Systematic Assessment of Well Conditions

Following Hurricane Melissa, a systematic assessment of the condition of wells was conducted in the South and Grande Anse departments. This intervention aimed to analyze the level of water contamination, establish priorities, and define appropriate corrective measures, including disinfection, rehabilitation, or temporary closure of certain wells. The field team, along with the engineers, carried out several key actions, including: mapping wells located near affected school infrastructure and conducting structural assessments of the wells to secure access and reduce risks to communities.

Haiti's UNECE Mandate Renewed

During the 9th session of the Working Group on Public-Private Partnerships of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Haiti's mandate, represented by Ms. Rose-Lourdes Elysée of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, was renewed for the period 2025–2027 within the Bureau of the Working Group for a second consecutive term, her work having been warmly commended.
