Haiti - Security : Prime Minister Fils-Aimé strengthens his support for the PNH and SWAT

On Monday, December 29, 2025, in an effort to restore constitutional order, Prime Minister and President of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, met with the Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Vladimir Paraison, who was accompanied by members of specialized units, including SWAT.

A concrete response to the needs of law enforcement :

This high-level meeting allowed the Head of Government to speak directly with units engaged on the front lines against armed criminal groups. The objective was twofold:

• To identify the logistical priorities of officers in the field;

• To provide immediate solutions to improve the operational effectiveness of the PNH.

Social Commitments and Working Conditions (Bonuses, Health, and Housing)

Accompanied by the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Sinal Bertrand, the Prime Minister reiterated the government promises made on July 8, 2025. Discussions resulted in significant progress on three key areas for police officers:

• Risk Bonuses : Increased compensation for exposed officers.

• Medical Coverage : Enhanced healthcare in Haiti and partnerships with Cuba.

• Access to Housing : Implementation of a specific support program for PNH officers.

Tribute and Call for National Unity :

The Prime Minister commended the heroic courage of the police officers mobilized during the holiday season. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the officers who fell in the line of duty. "The restoration of security is the essential condition for a return to democracy and the rule of law," Fils-Aimé emphasized.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister made a solemn appeal for national unity to eradicate the grip of armed groups and reaffirmed the State's full support for the elite police units.
