Haiti - Politic : Two new directors installed at the Ministry of Women's Affairs

On Wednesday January 14, 2026, two new directors were officially installed at the head of key structures of the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Women's Rights.

Chaired by Pedrica Saint Jean, the Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights, the installation took place in the presence of Eugénie Lybéral, the Acting General Director, members of the Minister's office and Evelyne Bien-Aimé, the Acting Director of Human Resources.

Ms. Ronique Paul Jean, former West Departmental Director, has been appointed Director of the Directorate for Combating Violence Against Women and Girls. In her speech after the usual thanks, she reaffirmed her determination to pursue committed, rigorous and results-oriented leadership, in the service of enhancing the Ministry and strengthening the fight against all forms of gender-based violence.

While Marie Carline Laurenceau, former Director of the Directorate for Combating Violence Against Women and Girls, was appointed head of the Departmental Directorate Coordination Unit. In her remarks, she assured that she will fully put her skills at the service of the Unit. She insisted on the importance of sharing knowledge, collaborating with her teams and strengthening the capacities of departmental directorates, with a view to improving the quality of the Ministry's action throughout the territory.

Through these appointments, the Ministry confirms its dynamic of reform and its ambition to build a stronger, more coherent institution and closer to the realities of Haitian women, for more effective public action in favor of their rights.
