Severe Contamination of Drinking Water

Haiti at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics (video) Franco-Haitian Stevenson Savart (25 years old), born in Haiti and adopted at the age of 3 by French parents, will represent Haiti in four events at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics (February 5-22). On February 8, Stevenson will compete in the 20km skiathlon (10km cross-country skiing in classic style and 10km in skating). On February 10, he will participate in the 1.5km classic sprint, an event in which Stevenson has high hopes. On February 13, he will compete in the individual 10km skating race, and finally, on February 21, he will race in the 50km classic style event.

The SPNH-17 issues an alert

The SPNH-17, a police union, is issuing an alert regarding gang threats attempting to enter the Southeast Department via Kenscoff. Several citizens have already been victims of attacks in the Cayes-Jacmel area. The Union formally requests that the Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Directorate of Public Security (DCPA), and the Directorate of State Security (DDSE) urgently reinforce security measures in the Southeast, particularly in Peredo and Marigot, to prevent the Southeast from becoming a haven for gangs.

Inauguration at Justinien Hospital

UNICEF Needs US$256.6 Million

On Friday, January 30, 2026, UNICEF Haiti convened its donors to discuss the major challenges facing children in Haiti and to strengthen mobilization in support of the most vulnerable. Currently, 1.4 million people are displaced, including more than 741,000 children, and 5.7 million people face acute food insecurity, including 1.2 million children under the age of five. In 2026, UNICEF needs US$256.6 million to provide life-saving assistance to 1.7 million people, including 1.2 million children, to ensure access to healthcare, nutrition, clean water, cholera prevention, and safe learning environments.
