A sectoral meeting was held in Cap-Haitien, primarily focused on presenting the North-Northeast Response Project, an agricultural cooperation project resulting from a partnership between Haiti and Taiwan (Republic of China), aimed at developing the production of quality rice seeds in the North and Northeast regions.

The meeting was part of an initiative to inform, consult with, and raise awareness among stakeholders in the agricultural sector regarding the project's orientations, objectives, and planned activities.

Objectives :

• To present the North-Northeast Response Project and its Haiti-Taiwan cooperation framework;

• To explain the project's general and specific objectives, centered on the production of quality rice seeds;

• To highlight the types of seeds involved, particularly basic and pre-basic seeds;

• To present the planned activities, including seed production, training sessions, and soil preparation work;

• Enabling participants to contribute through questions and discussions.

The meeting featured a detailed presentation of the North-Northeast Response project, highlighting its main objective: strengthening the rice seed sector in the North and Northeast regions through the production of certified, high-quality seeds. The main activities planned within the project framework were presented, including :

• Rice seed production;

• The organization of training sessions, some of which are planned for Grisongade;

• Soil preparation work, necessary for improving productivity.

A discussion session then allowed participants to ask questions and contribute on the technical and organizational aspects of the project.
