Haiti - Cap-Haitien : Sectoral table, presentation of the agricultural project «North-Northeast ResponseEst» 04/02/2026 08:50:58
The meeting was part of an initiative to inform, consult with, and raise awareness among stakeholders in the agricultural sector regarding the project's orientations, objectives, and planned activities. Objectives : • To present the North-Northeast Response Project and its Haiti-Taiwan cooperation framework; • To explain the project's general and specific objectives, centered on the production of quality rice seeds; • To highlight the types of seeds involved, particularly basic and pre-basic seeds; • To present the planned activities, including seed production, training sessions, and soil preparation work; • Enabling participants to contribute through questions and discussions. The meeting featured a detailed presentation of the North-Northeast Response project, highlighting its main objective: strengthening the rice seed sector in the North and Northeast regions through the production of certified, high-quality seeds. The main activities planned within the project framework were presented, including : • Rice seed production; • The organization of training sessions, some of which are planned for Grisongade; • Soil preparation work, necessary for improving productivity. A discussion session then allowed participants to ask questions and contribute on the technical and organizational aspects of the project. HL/ HaitiLibre
