Haiti - PNH : Miragoâne, Monitoring of the construction of the future Nippes departmental police station (video)

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP-Haiti), Japan, and the Haitian National Police (PNH) conducted a field visit to the Nippes department, specifically to Miragoâne, to assess the progress of the construction of the future departmental police station, marking a significant step in strengthening the region's security capacity.

This regional police coordination center is currently under construction in the Nippes department, at the crossroads of the Grand'Anse, South, Southeast, and West departments. Its strategic location makes it a crucial hub for coordinating the operations of the Haitian National Police and strengthening security in these four departments.

Built with technical support from the UNDP, funded by Japan, and managed by the PNH, this center will be equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure designed to improve coordination, operational efficiency, and the response capacity of law enforcement throughout the Greater South region.

This initiative is part of the UNDP's "Support Program for the Haitian National Police" in Haiti, a comprehensive effort to strengthen institutional governance, the recruitment and training of professionals, operational capacities, and the fight against organized crime and gang violence.
