Another Amending Budget ?

The Government is considering adopting an amending budget to address immediate priorities. Security and the organization of elections are among the main priorities of the Prime Minister's roadmap.

North Carnival : 1 Dead, 14 Arrests, Weapons Seized

The Northern Police Department issued a statement regarding the Carnival. Fourteen people were arrested, including a police officer named Smith Bien Aimé, from the 31st graduating class, considered the prime suspect in the death of Ronelson Mon Coeur. Five firearms were also seized.

Training on Microscience Kits

From February 16 to 20, 2026, a training seminar on microscience kits is being held in Cap-Haitien. Twenty teachers from the North, South, West, Artibonite, and Grande Anse regions are participating. This initiative aims to strengthen science education in Haitian schools by providing teachers with simple, safe, and adaptable teaching kits for contexts where laboratories are unavailable. Through biology, chemistry, and physics, this training encourages an experimental approach to make learning more concrete, interactive, and accessible to students.

Condolences : Passing of Jesse Jackson

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship learned with sorrow of the death on February 17 of Pastor Jesse Louis Burns, also known as "Jesse Jackson" an emblematic figure in the fight for civil rights in the United States. On this occasion, the Ministry pays tribute to his memory, his struggle, and his moral and political legacy, while extending the sympathies of the Haitian Government to the Government and people of the United States, particularly those for whom the life and values ​​of Pastor Jackson will remain a lasting source of inspiration.

Gonâve Island : Reopening of Health Services

Following the visit of Dr. Bertrand Sinal, Minister of Health, to Gonâve Island (January-February 2026), the Ministry of Public Health announces the reopening of several health facilities, including seven public health centers and a Community Referral Hospital. In addition, a new blood transfusion center has been inaugurated to strengthen patient care capacity. These facilities will become operational in phases and will reach full capacity in the coming weeks. With this in mind, shipments of medical equipment and supplies will continue to arrive, while the staff recruitment process is actively underway.

Pétion-ville : Women Graduate in Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, and Pastry

Twenty young women graduated in cosmetology and another twenty in culinary arts and pastry in Pétion-ville. This initiative, led by the GHESKIO centers, was supported financially by the United Nations Agency for Sexual and Reproductive Health (UNFPA) and the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES). It represents community support aimed at strengthening the autonomy and socio-economic integration of vulnerable young women.
