TPS : Trump Files Emergency Appeal

The Trump administration has filed an emergency appeal with the Supreme Court, asking the justices to rule on the President's authority to make decisions regarding the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Attorney Frandeley Denis Julien, an immigration lawyer known for his analysis of TPS for Haitians, stated in a video, "The Supreme Court has given TPS advocates until March 5th to respond. The Court will then make a decision. We don't know what the Supreme Court will decide. If the Court states in its decision on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) that the courts cannot review the decision, this will apply to all TPS beneficiaries [...]"

Aristide University : Free Agronomy Studies

The Dr. Aristide Foundation University (UNIFA) held a graduation ceremony on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, for the "Neuron Consciousness" class. At the end of the ceremony, in his speech, Dr. Aristide announced, "From today onward, all young men and women will be able to study agronomy for free at UNIFA."

Canada : 100 Patrol Vehicles for the PNH

According to the Canadian Ambassador to Haiti, André Giroux, approximately one hundred patrol vehicles (unarmored) for the PNH are being delivered and should arrive in Haiti in the coming weeks.

The Prime Minister congratulates the outgoing Ministers

Are diaspora remittances a target of the DHS ?

Remittances from the Haitian diaspora living in the United States represent nearly 20% of the national economy. In a publication dated Monday, March 2nd2026, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) indicated that $6.1 billion of Haiti's economy originates from the United States. The DHS is reportedly considering measures to address this situation.

Border Protection : The $542 Million Contract Divides Opposition

The National Observatory Against Corruption denounces the complete lack of transparency surrounding the over $542 million contract signed between the Haitian government and the companies Evergreen Trading System Limited and Alex Stewart International, and approved by the Superior Court of Auditors (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46942-haiti-news-zapping.html). The Observatory asserts that this contract undermines national sovereignty and paves the way for corruption.
