GSF Reports Significant Progress

Godfrey Otunge, the Kenyan Commander of the Gang Repression Force (FRG), reported significant progress made in the intensified operations in the West, Artibonite, and Central departments.

The Visa Application Center for Brazil (CAVB), managed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM - Haiti), informs applicants that appointments for family reunification (VITEM XI) are now closed. The maximum capacity for applications during this period has been reached.

Martinique : Military Partnership

Summary of the first week of training for the 5th platoon of soldiers from the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) in Martinique with the 33rd Marine Infantry Regiment (33e RIMa), including : obstacle courses; mastery of the FAMAS rifle; mastery and operation of the FN MAG machine gun; the firing range; and formation marches.

Haiti mired in a long-term multi-sectoral crisis

Economist Harry Salomon, Deputy Director General of the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI), stated on a radio station in the capital that the Haitian economy has experienced seven consecutive years of contraction, referring to a long-term multi-sectoral crisis. A projected 16.1% decrease in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) between 2019 and 2025, representing approximately 106 billion gourdes in constant value.

Double Gold Medal for Barbancourt

Barbancourt has been awarded two gold medals at the Best Aged Rum Awards 2026, organized by The Fifty Best. The award went to Réserve du Domaine 15-year-old and Barbancourt 5 Étoiles 8-year-old. This is a significant international recognition for Barbancourt and for Haiti.

26th International Mother Language Day

On the occasion of the 26th International Mother Language Day, the National Book Directorate (DNL) hosted the Haitian Creole Academy (AKA). Several prominent figures from the government and civil society participated in this event. As part of their collaboration, the DNL and AKA are committed to supporting authors to increase the production and publication of books in Creole and have agreed to promote Creole literature.
