On Saturday, March 7, 2026, in order to break with past practices and establish a sustained work rhythm in service to the Nation, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé convened his entire government at the Villa d’accueil for a working session. The purpose of this meeting was to inform government members, particularly the new ministers, about the strategic priorities of the public administration.

More than a mere formality, this meeting marked the true launch of government work. The Prime Minister intends to set a clear course and demand concrete results.

To this end, sectoral roadmaps, accompanied by control mechanisms and performance indicators, were presented to the ministers. These tools aim to guarantee the rigorous implementation of public policies.

Particular attention was paid to the country's macroeconomic situation and the management of public finances. The discussions provided an opportunity to present the new authorizing officers with the fundamental principles governing the preparation and execution of the State budget, distinguishing between the operating budget and the investment budget, as well as the disbursement procedures governed by public financial law. The respective roles of the financial controller and the public accountant, who ensure the regularity and transparency of public spending, were also reiterated.

At the macroeconomic level, the authorities highlighted the efforts undertaken to strengthen domestic resource mobilization and consolidate the balance of public finances within the framework of the 2025-2026 Finance Law.

In conclusion, the Head of Government reminded the ministers of their collective responsibility in promoting sound, transparent, and results-oriented public financial management. He urged them to adopt a culture of accountability by regularly submitting their quarterly action plans, the performance indicators of which will be subject to periodic evaluations during Cabinet meetings, and reiterated his demand for a united, competent, and resolutely action-oriented government.
