Gang Supression Force brings smiles back to children's faces 13/03/2026 09:32:04
"Children are the backbone of any society and represent the hope for a better future. No child should be left to suffer, and every child’s rights must always be protected. Unfortunately, in Haiti, many children have suffered the consequences of violence and gang activity. Some have been forcibly recruited by these groups, while others have been left homeless or orphaned as a result of the atrocities committed by these gangs." Aware of this sad reality in Port-au-Prince, the Gang Supression Force (FRG), with the support of its partners, has mobilized resources to help vulnerable children. On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in collaboration with PNH-ÉduPOL, the team visited an orphanage where they donated various essential items. These donations included contributions such as food, clothing, hygiene and sanitation supplies, detergents, mattresses and sheets, baby care products, and sports equipment, including soccer balls. GSF Commander Godfrey Otunge, accompanied by officers of the Haitian National Police (PNH), officially presented the donations to the institution. The children's bright eyes and smiles reflected their profound gratitude and warm welcome. During the visit, the officers sang, shared meals, and chatted freely with the children, creating moments of joy and hope. This generous initiative highlights the importance of solidarity and community support for the most vulnerable. Such gestures deserve to be replicated in other institutions that house and care for vulnerable children throughout the country. HL/ HaitiLibre
