Haiti - Social Protection : OFATMA strengthens its partnership with the MSPP

The Ministry of Public Health (MSPP) and the Office of Occupational Accident, Illness, and Maternity Insurance (OFATMA) are organizing a joint retreat from March 22 to 24, 2026, aimed at strengthening institutional coordination and sustainably improving the care provided to insured individuals within the Haitian healthcare system.

This initiative reflects a strong political commitment to improving health coverage mechanisms and guaranteeing insured individuals more equitable, efficient, and sustainable access to healthcare services.

Participants will analyze the situation of insured individuals, the challenges of claims collection, and the draft MoU order to identify concrete solutions and define clear mechanisms for access to, coverage of, and payment for healthcare.

This retreat will foster open, technical, and strategic exchanges among the various stakeholders, in a spirit of co-creation, transparency, and shared responsibility. It should culminate in the signing of a structuring protocol, strengthening health governance and social protection, while reaffirming OFATMA's commitment to placing insured individuals at the heart of its priorities.
