Military Plane Hit by Gunfire

A Belgian Airbus A400M military transport plane carrying approximately 80 Chadian soldiers on a flight from Santo Domingo to Port-au-Prince was hit by gunfire during landing. Bullet impacts were found on the rear fuselage, near the tail, and on one engine. No casualties were reported. Temporary repairs were carried out to allow the aircraft to return safely to its home base in Melsbroek, Belgium. As a precaution, a second flight scheduled to Haiti was canceled.

More Than 1,300 Terrorists Killed in 3 Months

In a report published on April 23, 2026, the United Nations warned of the deteriorating security situation in Haiti. The UN reported 2,444 civilian deaths in three months, as documented by the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH). Museums : Training on the Conservation of Collections and Documents

On Friday, April 24, 2026, UNESCO in Haiti, in partnership with the Mexican Embassy, ​​concluded a four-day training workshop on the conservation of graphic and documentary collections in a museum context. Approximately twenty participants from institutions responsible for preserving the country's cultural heritage received their certificates at the end of the session. This final day focused on the practical application of acquired knowledge through demonstrations of conservation techniques and testimonials from participants. It also provided an opportunity to review the main risks to which these heritage items are exposed, including poor storage conditions, environmental factors, handling, and emergency situations.
