Addressing and numbering of the city of Cap-Haitien

Addressing and numbering of the city of Cap-Haitien

The Cap-Haitien Municipal Administration announces that the contract for the implementation of the municipal addressing and numbering project, aimed at structuring and modernizing the municipality, has been signed with Geo Society.

This seven-month contract is part of the Cap-Haïtien Urban Development Project (CHUD) and is financially supported by the World Bank. It is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, through the Central Implementation Unit.

This project aims to structure and improve the identification of the entire municipal territory through the following actions:

• Identification of the municipality's streets;

• Numbering of all dwellings;

• Identification of zones and neighborhoods.

The actual commencement of operations is contingent upon the signing of the contract with the supervisory firm, the National Center for Geo-Spatial Information (CNIGS), and the issuance of the commencement order.

The municipal administration emphasizes that implementing an addressing system is an essential tool for the organization and management of the municipality. It will notably facilitate geolocation, census taking, waste management, and emergency response. It will also contribute to improving public services, urban planning, and the development of economic activities.
