Haiti - Diplomacy : Designation of 11 new diplomats 20/01/2012 13:37:31 The ratification process began yesterday Thursday with the filing of documents of the Ambassador-designate to Panama,Alix Balmir, father of Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the current Minister of Tourism. Mr. Balmir has previously held various diplomatic posts particularly in Spain and Colombia. The other personalities are, Paul Altidor, for the position of Ambassador of Haiti in Washington (USA), the businessman Frantz Liautaud, and current President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Haitian-Canadian (CCIHC) for Canada, Ottawa, Harvel Victor Jean-Baptiste for Chile, Ralph Latortue for the Bahamas, Mr. Latortue is the former-Consul of Haiti in Miami, Lesly David for Venezuela, Antonio Rodrigue in Japan. The Ambassador Guy Lamothe, current director of Investment Facilitation Center (CFI), will regain its position in Mexico. Jean Wesley Cazeau was designated Permanent Representative to the Mission of Haiti to the United Nations in New York (United States). Guillaume François was designated as Consul General in Miami (USA) and Charles Antoine Forbin as acting Consul General in New York (United States). In December, Laurent Lamothe Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs had declared about the profile of Ambassadors "...the profile of the Ambassadors will change and will pass from a profile rather diplomat to a profil fairly aggressive, with an academic profile Masters, a profile of entrepreneur, of businessman, able to attract investment, people who are accustomed to wotk in the matchmaking, in the networking throughout the world, so that the promotion of Haiti is made with dignity and of manner to make every Haitian proud.
