Haiti - Politic : Message of Laurent Lamothe, from France 21/01/2012 12:16:46
Yesterday the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs, Laurent Lamothe left Haiti for a 4 days official visit to France, today he went to the Embassy of Haiti in Paris and also had a working meeting with Mr. Jean Rouilly of Lagardère Media Consulting Group. A few minutes ago the Minister of Foreign Affairs declared "The objective of our visit in France is to strengthen the diplomatic, cultural and commercial relations with the French government, is to have a policy of proximity with the Haitians of the diaspora living in France, the taxi drivers, the association of taxi drivers that we will that we will meet tonight https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-4774-haiti-social-lamothe-met-with-haitian-taxi-drivers-of-paris.html , is to show a sensitivity, is to show that the new Haitian government wants to know more about their living conditions, on what they do, on how they can help Haiti in a more efficient manner. We want that the Haitians living in the diaspora return to Haiti, we have a human resources problem, a problem of resources that are not well established, so we lose our wealth. We want that the diaspora returns to Haiti to help us develop this country. We are here to meet the Minister Alain Juppé [Minister of Foreign and European Affairs], to have a working meeting with him, to ask him to encourage the French companies to return to Haiti, we had French companies such as K-Dis, Club Med, Prix Unique, all these businesses are closed today, we want that these companies return in Haiti, return to give a chance to Haiti. So the objective it is a rapprochement, and strengthen ties between France and Haiti at the cultural, diplomatic, commercial level and also on investment." The Minister Lamothe also invites all Haitian students currently in France to meet him to the Académie Diplomatique, 4 bis, avenue Hoche, Paris, Sunday, Jan. 22 to 2pm. Get there early, the capacity is of 200 people. See also : HL/ HaitiLibre
